Nonsense.

They are just moving production of a vehicle/some vehicles to the US for the local market.

It’s fairly clear from the affordability crisis and Trump’s appalling popularity that his tariffs are most definitely not working.

Yep,the griifter is a winner . The tariffs will be deemed illegal and the silly conman will have to give all the money back as before.

Were there zero releases into the United States for a year under Trump, as Secretary Markwayne Mullin claimed? July 19, 2026

NO. Though the Department of Homeland Security has self-reported zero releases of non-U.S. nationals since May 2025, immigration data from TRAC suggests that the number of aliens released rather than detained, despite significant decreases, remains more than 500 per month.

From May 2025 to May 2026, 6,524 individuals facing charges for entry without inspection, including those apprehended at a port of entry and those apprehended within the country, were released. Another 1,542 were intercepted attempting EWI during that time.

Are you referring to the tariffs that have already been returned or the tariffs that have not been returned yet?

Watch how fast these "moves" are cancelled when the Trump presidency comes to an end.

Trump tariffs are working as well as a barbed wire canoe in the Pacific. Americans pay for them.

Jonny, the topic is about tariffs, not his racist policies, which you of course agree with

Most countries in the world enforce border controls and immigration law.

Thankfully your ridiculous one world, open borders fantasy is not a commonly held view and has been shown to have failed. Trump is cleaning up the mess your ilk has left behind.

So best you stick to race baiting, bigot.

Yes, the tariffs are working.

It's great that Trump is leveraging these tariffs (which are working) politically to encourage countries like Mexico and Canada to control their illegal migrants to the US.

Another big win for tariffs, since they are working.

Trumps tariffs are working, not only by encouraging investment in the US, but by reducing illegal immigration.

You mean the immigration that has been massively reduced by Trump leveraging the tariffs, which are working in many different ways?

Meanwhile in the real world.........

So give me a hint how tariffs (taxes for the US consumer) affect illegal immigration.

Meanwhile...

OK I will explain again for the hard of understanding.

Donald Trump has used tariffs as direct economic leverage to force neighboring countries to curb illegal immigration.

For example re. Mexico/Canada, Trump formally tied import taxes to border security, using executive declarations to levy additional tariffs on them until they halted illegal immigration and drug flow.

So, Trump's tariffs are also working by reducing the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants into the country. Yet another win. Win Win, in fact. Or maybe win win win?

Comprende?

The cost of building Mercedes and VW’s in the US is going to be more expensive. Those costs will have to be passed on to the consumer, or reduced by cost cutting in manufacturing. Cue lower quality cars.

That means from 60 countries there are still coming illegal immigrants and drugs into the US?

Do you really believe that?

No, I don't think so. You just hail to your Messiah because... I have no idea why. That will always stay your secret.

The United States will slap taxes of 10% to 12.5% on imports from 60 countries accounting for 99% of U.S. imports.
