I use a 5 year old Intel NUC mini-PC as a source for my TV via HDMI. Recently, more often then not, when I power-on the PC, I get a "NO Signal" pop-up on my TV display. It usually takes several tries, shutting down/powering up for my PC Home screen to appear. I have tried cleaning and alternating the HDMI ports on both the PC (2 ports) and TV (3 ports) I have also changed HDMI cables.

I called a reliable computer repair shop and they said it sounds like a motherboard issue as the HDMI ports are directly connected. Replacement B3000.

Has anybody else experienced this issue? Did it turn out to be anything other than the motherboard?

As the PC is 5+ years old, normally I'd just replace it but a quick look on Lazada shows the component shortage is real as mini-PC prices have doubled in the past year.

It's RAM and Storage that has increased in price. Buy a bare bones device cheaply and re-use your RAM and SSD.

You can buy a new HDMI port, a card that plugs into your motherboard bus.

Disable existing HDMI port through your BIOS

Of course checking that the device is compatible with your RAM. The newest devices may require DDR5. Yours is likely DDR4.

My TV has the same problem with different PCs and different cables.

It only works properly with 1.5m hdmi cables.

It's the TV that is the problem.

Also make sure your HDMI cable doesn't run near your Power cable.

Also make sure your PC power cable and TV power cable are connected to the same socket.

Curious why?

I have a laptop connected to an extra display and had issues with one hdmi cable that was close to the laptop power cable but presumed the issue was the cable as changed it for a shorter one and no issue.

If what's been suggested hasn't yet helped, try updating your graphics drivers and turning off fast startup. I don't use a TV with my PC but had trouble with my PC rebooting over and over until I bought a new graphics card. My old one was over 10 years old and had it's day. There are a few things that can cause what's going on with your setup and everything else has been mentioned.

I don't have the answer to your question, but I'm sure the online AIs do. I use Microsoft's AI, CoPilot, but probably any of them could give you an answer to your question.

Try a new cable

As previously suggested try a shorter HDMI cable or if you do not want to buy a new pc why not try a USB to HDMI convertor.

4k video available and very cheap.
