online appointment at CW - ext. of stay bec. of Thai-wife

Featured Replies

I am not sure, but something seems odd: did I choose the right category for immigration appointment by choosing

L1 Extension Visa For Visit spouse/Thai Children or
In case of Thai husband/Thai wife

Because in the end I got 2 queue numbers both for L1 (instead of one confirmation compared to last year) with two separate confirmations (in one pdf file))

I wouldn't be concerned.

Do a hard copy print out.

When you first enter the L desk area attend the doc check L1 (first desk on right)

Suggest be say 30min early for appointment.

in general, good advice, but for the 1 pm appointment? they do not open the gates before exactly 1 pm again... Need to be there say like 11:45? But then what would the point of the time saving online appointment be?

You don't need to be there 11.45

I most often try and book appointment 1pm.

I do my photocopies etc in that time.

Yours being marriage guess you take prepared docs.

You can arrive any time prior to 1pm.

Ignore the long line queue as you have an appointment just stand near entrance doors and at 1pm you can walk straight in

Following up on the 1:00 PM appointment slot for an extension for stay based on retirement at CW...

As you have to queue and wait for the door re-opening at 1:00 PM, are the staff accommodating on the "...show up before appointed time at 15 minutes..." rule as stated on the appointment slip?

My last appointment was 1pm, L1, Counter 35. I walked straight in at 1pm, no document check, and sat opposite the counter (desk). My number came up almost instantly. No problem apart from she was still catching up with the pre-lunch applications still on her desk so it took longer than expected.

I always, try and obtain the 1pm slot and indeed have that slot for my upcoming extension retirement in October.

Ignore the long que line.

Stand to left of entry doors. When doors open walk straight to L desk as indicated on your booking.

Works a treat.

Previously you went straight to L1 for Doc check.

However I think @Tod Daniels recently reported that the doc check step has been removed.

Do the other folks queued grumble about you (appearing to) jumping the queue?

Was there an existing queue? Did you join it, or just walk past it?

I just walked past the queue, with my appointment in hand, I may have waved it at someone on entry but certainly was no problem, and didn't detect any grumbling form the hordes waiting in line.

No.

I always, have hard copy of appointment however the official opening door is not interested.

In the main the folk in the que are yet to obtain a que ticket.

You will be fine

I'm so envious at the apparent ease for making online appointments at CW for most Extensions.

I need to go on 6 October for my Work extension (Teacher at a private institution - Section N). It is always full, so I waited until exactly midnight on 5/6 September, and "voila", some times were showing as available for 6 October. However, for each time I selected it said 'Sorry, this time is taken' (or words to that effect). I tried every time shown with the same result. A few minutes later the whole day showed 'Full'. 😓

You guys have it tough at CW re appointments.

Note for others it's even getting difficult for (in my case) retirement extensions.

I started looking as soon as 45 day window opened and tried for several days to snag one October 7.

So yes it's a crap shoot
