Four Spanish Tourists Injured by Falling Tree at Ayutthaya Temple

Four members of a Spanish tourist group were injured when a large tree suddenly collapsed at Wat Phra Si Sanphet inside Ayutthaya Historical Park. Three women escaped with relatively minor injuries, while a 55-year-old man suffered broken ribs and fractures to his left leg. Emergency crews and medical personnel responded to the historic site before transporting all four tourists to hospital for treatment. Investigators discovered that the base of the fallen tree was hollow and damaged, suggesting age or decay may have caused the collapse despite there being no strong wind or rain at the time. Ayutthaya officials have instructed tourism authorities, tourist police and hospital staff to provide assistance to the injured visitors and their family group.
