Does a Margarita qualify as "food" for purposes of this forum?

Anyway, I was at the store yesterday and got the bright idea to try making my own Margaritas once in a while.

The ingredients so far:

Typically, the recipes also call for lime juice, I think. Does anyone have any better ideas?

One of my old work buddies had a special recipe, but he's now deceased and for the life of me I can't remember what it was.

Maybe sea salt and a pint glass.

I think it was something else.

I remember one time we went out to lunch at a fancy Mexican restaurant and he made a big deal about it and went so far as to teach the bartender exactly how to make it. Anyway, the guy was more or less a professional alcoholic, so I trust his judgment.

That's the sheer genius of a "Margarita"

It's a total waste of money using good tequila in a Rita

The whole point of a Rita is to cover up the awful taste of Jose Cuervo.

Putting Chinaco Añejo in a Rita is stupid.

That's for sipping not for Ritas. 😄

Main alcoholTequila

Ingredients0.51 oz freshly squeezed lime juice, 0.68 oz triple sec, 1.69 oz tequila

PreparationAdd all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

ServedOn the rocks; poured over ice

Standard garnishLime slice, Salt on the rim

Drinkware Margarita glass Pint Glass.
