MRSA test

Featured Replies

For a medical procedure in Austria I require an MRSA test. Enquired from eg Bangkok Christian Hospital but they don't do it

They could not tell me who will do it.

Google shows many lab names which don't list the test. Enquiries led to a dead end.

Any idea anybody?

You have to tell them what exactly you (or the Austrians) want to be tested.

Nostrils? Ears? Anus?

All the international hospitals can do it, once you tell them what you want. Probably BCH, too.

BTW usually the test would be done in Austria.

Medex, Medpro said "no".

No, it won't be done in Austria. Got to supply result prior to arrival.

Tried to avoid the big hospitals in Bangkok as they tend to charge max.

MedEx does provide it

You probably just spoke to someone who did not know what you meant, "nohave"is the Thai go-to answer for anything at all unusual or unfamiliar.

But need to be sure exactly what type of MRSA test your hospital in Austria requires.. Basic culture (from what part of the body)? PCR? Molecular test? etc What Medex will do, is a throat culture.
