Iran warns Gulf neighbours: “Join America and you become the enemy”

Iran has dramatically widened its warning to neighbouring states, threatening to treat any country that joins the US economic campaign against Tehran as an enemy. Hormuz shipping surges — but it is still nowhere near normal

There is a striking development in the Strait of Hormuz: commercial shipping has surged by almost 400 percent in just two weeks, rising from roughly 40 vessels to nearly 200 in the latest week. But the headline number needs context — traffic is still only around 20 percent of pre-war levels. More than 80 percent of liquid cargoes are now avoiding the Iranian-controlled route by using a southern corridor off Oman, while some vessels are deliberately switching off their tracking systems and travelling under protection. The figures suggest Iran's ability to choke the waterway is being steadily eroded, but Hormuz remains a long way from returning to normal.

The “dark” tankers are getting the oil through

One of the most remarkable developments is how the oil trade is adapting. CNN reports that tankers are increasingly going “dark” — switching off their tracking transponders, sometimes travelling at night under military escort, then reappearing after crossing the strait. The tactic appears to be working: CNN estimates that around 9 million barrels of oil a day are now getting through Hormuz, roughly double the amount moving through the waterway a couple of weeks ago, although that remains well below the roughly 20 million barrels a day before the war. In other words, Iran can still threaten the route, but America and its partners are finding increasingly ingenious ways around the choke point.

Donald Trump has dramatically raised the stakes by declaring that he now regards the Strait of Hormuz as “American territory”, while reposting a map labelling the strategic waterway “NEW US Territory”. Trump says Washington has total control of the region and is making the reopening of the strait a central condition of any deal with Tehran. is just going to use sanctions to try and defeat Iran ,bombs did not work,

he will never put soldiers on the ground , as that would end him ,bodies

landing back in America ,not good, so really he had no plan starting the

war, and does not know how to get out, which he would love to do so

he could concentrate even more on his vanity projects
