Hi to all. Just found out that my MG ZS ( I-SMART ) has ceased to function, apparently the I-SMART function is only good for 5 years then expires. This means that you dont receive any mores updates from the manufacturer, you cant use your smart phone app and live updates for weather and road conditions in your SAT NAV cease.

When I looked this up on google I found you can pay for a new subsription via your smart phone app, however, I left my subscription lapse by several months, so now I have to go to a dealership to renew. Cost 1590B per annum and who knows maybe a service charge as well. What peaves me the most is the MG dealership never mentioned anything regarding this when I purchased the car.

So just wondering has anybody else been caught out with the MG I-SMART con.

I remember reading about the length of free thingys, in promo material / brochure.

Myself, didn't care about the 5 yr only free as we really never use it. The Nav system is no loss, as not nearly as good as Gmaps.

It's also still noted in present promo info ... that fine print most don't seek out & read.
