Thai Business Stategy-lie?!

Hi guys,

I want to bring up a subject that I think have in common to all of you making business in Thailand .

I live in Thailand over 2 years owning a business and something that I always see and get upset is that many many times when I go to buy service(products for the business or any other job that need to be done) the business owner always promise to do the job/ bring products on the day we agree.

and then - almost never be on time.

or late.

or need to be reminded.

Its such a waste of time and money that its unbelievable.

Are you experience the same? what is the deal with this strategy of promise and then let down? Is it for make the customer on the same moment just to close the deal or what?

thanks/ :o

Ive found having a good relationship with suppliers helps. The odd time this has happened I've made a point of making sure I said Id pay on a certain day and didn't. I left it for a few days or so till they got the idea. If they are happy to deliver late and be paid late then you have to make sure you order well in advance. I now have a sound business base with my suppliers so no problems. :o

the problem is if they come late or whatever I said before..so its ok for them.

but when they finish the job they wait with an open hand for straight away pay.

after all they did the job..right ? ..

I dont understand why need to lie constently..

IF they can "deliver the job" on monday they better say they'll come on thursday and come earlier..not late.

I'm sorry maybe it looks stupid for you to bring this subject but its so annoying and dishonesty ..and these smiles when they late like its sunday morning sunshine ..

they just dont get it.

until now I stopped my contact with few businesses only because this reasone.. and today..1 more.

I'm not willing to accept this kind of behavior.. not when ?I pay money.they lazy..want to lie?som tam maybe? GREAT. no job anymore for you. !

we had a company we dealt with for a few small projects, on one project it was stressed the completion needs to be on time and we were told yep yep all good it will be done...... done it was 1 month and 3 days LATE.... i found it rather amusing when the accounts clerk rung me at the end of the month and was asking why payment had not been made yet, i responded the payment will be processed at 1 month and 2 days from completion date and the money would be in their account the day after that....

best part was the next time we engaged their services it was on time and on budget..... hehehehehehehehe
