It’s very sad. Sad indeed that you most likely won’t be around for Pete’s inauguration.

e.g. 30 yr bonds were at an all time low under Trump during months in 2020, with 1.xx % for months, you do not even know this fact. So whilst blaming others by spreading lies, Trump could have done what you suggest and he did not. A lawyer is supposed to do some research before posting falsehoods.

And as a lawyer, you should also know, that a president can not just issue bonds to have spare money for later, e (to not know this fact, makes me question your skills, really...)

So, not Trump, who had the lowest rates ever within his first term did it nor anyone before or after him, because it would still have cost money, a lot of money. Rates even at its lowest exceeded 1%, which is, based on Billions to borrow, still a lot of money.

Yup, I no longer see that troll. Been peaceful.

Janet Yellen faced heavy criticism for relying on short-term Treasury bills rather than locking in long-term debt when interest rates were near zero.

Failing to issue 10-year or 30-year bonds at ultra-low rates was a historic blunder. By issuing short-term debt, the Treasury left itself exposed when rates surged, forcing the government to refinance trillions of dollars at much higher costs. Higher refinancing costs have substantially increased annual taxpayer-funded interest payments on the national debt.

Major corporations (and countries like Austria and Argentina) issued 50-year and 100-year bonds during their low interest period to secure cheap capital for a lifetime.

However, luckily Trump's team realizes what is going on and is taking steps to mitigate the errors of Janet Yellen.

Trump's team did actually study issuing debt when interest rates were very low but decided against it, because at the time T-bills (short-term debt) were yielding near 0%. The Treasury deliberately chose to issue short-term debt because it kept the immediate cost of the massive 2020 pandemic relief bills as low as possible for the taxpayer.

And besides, through Quantitative Easing (QE), the Federal Reserve was buying up massive quantities of Treasury debt to keep the economy afloat. Structurally, the government was already keeping its overall borrowing costs suppressed through this mechanism.

Just to summarize, Pete's purge of the best and brightest of the top leadership of the US army have so far seen the following personnel been fired or forced to quit:

Gen. Randy George: Army Chief of Staff

Gen. David Hodne: Commanding General, Army Transformation and Training Command.

Gen. James Mingus: Army Vice Chief of Staff.

Gen. Christopher Donahue: Commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa

Lt. Gen. Joe (J.P.) McGee: Director of strategy, plans, and policy.

Lt. Gen. Joseph B. Berger III: Army Judge Advocate General.

Maj. Gen. William Green Jr.: Army Chief of Chaplains.

Col. Dave Butler: Senior Army officer who worked closely with Gen. George (and Army Secretary Driscoll) as a communications adviser/spokesman.

Dan (Daniel P.) Driscoll: Secretary of the Army

Dave Fitzgerald, Army deputy undersecretary also leaving. (He's been key to bringing private capital in on drone and modernization programs.)

Many of these positions have not been replaced by a candidate confirmed by Congress, so are filled by "friends of Pete". No wonder the US got so badly beaten by Iran.

Again, rates never wear near zero and they were their lowest under Trump, not under Yellen.

You are talking gibberish, if you do not rely on facts it is useless to talk.

First you say they were lowest under Yellen, a clear lie. Then you make up stories around it. She issued short term bonds at much higher rates in 2023 and 2024. Did you even look up rates in 2023 and 2024? OMG, how can you, as a related lawyer, not even know the basics?

We do not! It's all the investment bankers. We just makes sure it's done properly.

They were at 1.32% for 10 year Treasury yields, which is pretty close to zero and exceptionally low.

Trump's time was very different, because Covid distorted the market then. Trump's team under Mnuchin did study the feasibility of locking in the low interest rates, but I already explained above why it was not done. Again Covid meant other priorities had to be considered.

No, because T-Bills (short term debt) were at near 0% interest the Treasury deliberately chose to issue short-term debt because it kept the immediate cost of the massive 2020 pandemic relief bills as low as possible for the taxpayer.

Again, superb work by Trump's administration.

What has that load of whitewash got to do with what damage TRUMP is doing to the WORLD AT PRESENT?

Damage like helping Japan reign in the Yen? Damage like preventing Bond yields from soaring ever higher? Or damage like signing the biggest oil deal in history that will usher in lower petrol prices? There's so much "damage" you'll have to be more specific.

That's a misrepresentation. Clearly it did work for a limited time. And neither the Yen, nor the 30 year bond yield have surged to all time highs. Obviously it's a short term fix. Much better would be invading Canada and taking its 51 trillion USD of assets.

US bond prices remain under heavy pressure despite Scott Bessent’s interventions with the 10‑year hovering near 4.7% and the 30‑year around 5.25%, both close to multi‑decade highs.

The interventions provided only temporary relief, and the market has shrugged them off.

Really - Hegseth, on a good day, looks like he's recovering from a pervious night's bender. Love the slimy snot hair-gel. Know wonder his hair looks mucus encrusted most of the time. The guy is pathetic.

Pundits are sounding warnings about munitions being depleted in the war with Iran. Million dollar Patriot and THAAD systems are being used to shoot down drones costing $30,000.

If China decides to invade Taiwan, America will be fighting a war on two fronts, with a reduced armory. Military doctrine has always said that is a bad idea.

Yah, that's a regrettable by-product of the Israel inspired war on Iran. Rising oil prices inevitably have that effect, driving yields up. That's why an intervention was done. But until the war ends and oil goes down yields will remain high. No doubt another reason why the deal with Venezuela was pursued.

Perfectly normal, you wouldn't see details until it's all chiselled out. You're asking to see a lady before she's done her make-up properly!

Even assuming the deal is real, it will take 3-5 years to get Venezuala's decrepit infrastructure up to speed. I guess Americans will have to pay higher gas prices for a while yet.

They did not intervene to reign in the Yen.

Another fact for you: you need to reign in strong things, but support weak things.

The US bought Yen to defend the weak yen, so Japan did not need to sell Bonds to raise cash to support the Yen by themselves.

You are welcome, always happy to inform newbies.

In addition, more than 50% of the invested money to support Japan is undone by the market, so the market is getting back to selling off Bonds.

That is the problem if you fight the symptoms instead of the sources of a bad situation. Especially by an admin who vowed to get rid of the national debt.

That and a desperate desire to throttle China's oil supplies.

It will also have the effect of weakening Russia, when the Venezuelan oil floods the market clearly prices will fall and Russia's economy will start to have problems.

So Pete the cosplayer is universally regarded as the worst Sec Def in history, and is presiding over the worst gutting of senior military personnel ever seen.

Why? Because incompetent people are always intimidated by competent people, so Pete resorts to firing anyone who won't pat him on his greasy head and tell him he's a goood booooy. And although he's busy losing the war in Iran he takes time off to post s**t about Canadian kids doing cadet training.

In an administration filled with useless muppets Pete surely competes for the title of "The Biggest Muppet".

"On Monday, Hegseth shared a photo with his two million X followers originally posted by the Vernon Cadet Training Center, in British Columbia. It shows a smiling cadet being presented with a medal on the final day of training.

The Canadian facility teaches cadets aged 12 to 18 military-style leadership and drills and is operated under the Department of National Defense. Its instructors are largely volunteers."

Maybe you're not, Caine. But Pete and trump is another matter entirely. Hopefully, you will have the ba!!$ General Mark Milley has and tell them to eff off if/when they give you the illegal orders.

But I'm not very hopeful. I can't help but feel that you should have pushed back harder as you see the cosplaying Fox weekend host tear the top command structure of the US armed forces apart.

More from the s**t show that is the Pentagon these days. Pete is running around with the polygraph, hooking up anyone that looks sideways at him.

What a muppet for the ages he is.🤣

"U.S. government investigators have taken the extraordinary step of subjecting roughly 50 members of the U.S. military’s Joint Staff to polygraph tests over leaks to journalists, including about how the Iran war has created a shortage of crucial munitions, according to officials briefed on the move.

The investigators asked military officers and civilian employees on the Joint Staff if they disclosed classified information to members of the press, and about whether they provided information about diminished U.S. munitions stocks.

The polygraph tests were conducted in August after a flurry of news reports detailed diminished stocks of crucial munitions, including of long-range missiles and Patriot interceptors."
