Warehouse owner accused of sexual abuse by 20 workers

Featured Replies

A durian sorting warehouse owner in Chanthaburi, identified only as Mor, has been accused of sexually assaulting more than 20 female employees, according to representatives of the alleged victims.

The complaints have yet to progress with police, the representatives said. On August 26, Assistant Public Health Minister Thanakrit Chit-areerat accompanied them in submitting complaints to the relevant agencies.

Channel 8 reported that Mor allegedly recruited young women aged between 15 and 20 to work at the packing house. The victims' representatives said more than 20 women had suffered sexual abuse.

One worker describes resort ordeal

One woman said she had worked as a clerk at the warehouse for just four days when the alleged assault occurred. She said Mor was driving her towards work but diverted to a resort, telling her he wanted to rest briefly.

According to her account, the employer later came out of a shower wearing only a towel and offered her 1,000 baht for sex. She said he touched her private parts, causing her to scream for help.

The woman said he told her to be quiet and keep the matter secret. She said she escaped rape but was threatened with dismissal, withheld wages and death if she went to police.

She said she subsequently told Mor's wife, who allegedly asked her not to pursue the matter because other workers could lose their jobs.

Claims of threats and cash settlements

The report said Mor allegedly used various excuses and methods to take individual workers to resorts. Some women were allegedly molested, while others were raped.

He was then accused of threatening victims into silence. His wife was also alleged to have negotiated cash payments intended to secure the withdrawal of complaints.

Thanakrit said he was coordinating with provincial police in Chanthaburi to collect evidence and move the case forward. He also said psychological care would be arranged for the alleged victims.

No charges or formal police statements have yet been issued by authorities.

If prooved guilty, guess it's another of those disgusting individuals who use their power and position to sexually assault the weak and their subordonates. Such predators are unfortunately roaming all over the world in every country and those with power (money, influence) remain free and are continuing their repulsive actions.
