More than 900 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza this year despite the ceasefire, according to the latest figures from the Hamas-run health ministry.

The ministry says more than 1,300 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began on October 10, including 301 children. The figures do not distinguish between civilians and combatants, but the UN considers the ministry's casualty data broadly reliable.

Deadly strikes continue despite the truce

Israel and Hamas agreed to halt the war after accepting US President Donald Trump's 20-point peace plan, which called for a suspension of “all military operations”.

Yet Gaza has continued to see deadly attacks. The health ministry recorded more than 100 deaths in every month from April through August, with July the deadliest at 152, including 21 children.

BBC Verify has analysed dozens of videos showing the aftermath of strikes on locations including a beachside café, displaced people's tents and a reported funeral procession.

Israel insists it is targeting militants

The Israel Defense Forces disputes the ministry's figures and says there is no basis for assuming every listed death resulted from Israeli military action.

The IDF says it continues to operate precisely, target threats and take measures to limit civilian casualties. It also says Hamas and other armed groups have continued to violate the ceasefire and threaten Israeli forces.

Conflict monitor ACLED has recorded around 200 Israeli strikes during the ceasefire that reportedly killed Hamas operatives or other armed militants.

‘Ceasefire in name only’

Hugh Lovatt of the European Council on Foreign Relations said Gaza had experienced a “ceasefire in name only”, with almost daily Israeli air and drone strikes continuing.

He warned the violence could become a central obstacle to implementing Trump's ceasefire agreement.

Children bear the cost

Unicef says more than 300 children have been killed since the ceasefire, with hundreds more injured. Its global spokesperson James Elder called the toll “absurd and devastating”, warning that a ceasefire producing such figures is failing children.

Humanitarian workers have also been killed, while independent researchers say civilian harm incidents remain high. The evidence is adding to mounting questions over whether the ceasefire is delivering the protection it was intended to provide.

Why are Hamas happy to give their age, but refuse to state whether they were civilianss or combatants ?

Take off the ones that were "Hanniballed" and the friendly fired on October 7th - which is a lot - then the Israelis have murdered more Palestinians since their supposed cease fire than were killed on the Palestinian incursion on that day. They are so steeped on blood there is no going back. I didn't expect to see Israel falling apart in my lifetime but we are pretty much on the cusp of that. That said it will be decline everywhere so they will be amongst 'fiends' .

Israel has perpetuated a horror mythology around 7 October of beheaded babies, mass rape and other atrocities to frame the events of that day as an almost incomprehensible act of barbarism.

But 7 October was, in reality, a calculated breakout by Gazans from their open-air prison, intended to remind the world of their plight. They caught Israel totally unprepared and shattered the assumption that Israel was invulnerable to attack from Gaza.

They have paid a huge price for their impudence, but arguably Israel has paid a much higher one. The inviolability and supremacy of Israel over its conquered people has been shattered like never before. In that context, the Palestinian resistance has won.

It is like the Warsaw Ghetto uprising in a past era: ultimately, the people who rose up paid a huge price, but they would rather die fighting than go quietly into the night.

The gloating in your post is barely hidden. You see righteous revenge the world sees genocide and a pariah state and there's no coming back for that for Israel - Sparta it is a a paranoid heavily armed micros state at perpetual war with its neighbours who equally seek revenge - God has never been particularly good to the Jews - maybe it's time that abandoned him as a lost cause.

Atrocities that happened that day are not a myth .

They were live streamed and posted online .

Palestinians being removed from Gaza is reasonable response to Oct 7 th . Criminals being evicted from their homes for bad behaviour
