"Hitler Was Right" banners at the United Nations, the 2001 warning about "Islamism" .

Four days before 9/11, the UN’s World Conference Against Racism in Durban was hijacked by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, turning a human rights forum into an antisemitic circus complete with "Hitler Was Right" banners.

Four days before 9/11, an ominous warning about Islamism’s growing influence emerged at the UN

"This now-infamous UN event, 25 years ago this week, was ideologically hijacked by a group of autocratic nations called the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which commandeered the proceedings to focus exclusively on Israel — thereby averting the world’s eyes from their own crimes. The Hitler-themed posters that blanketed the UN conference in Durban were funded by the family of Osama bin Laden".

The story is based in part by a opinion article in the NYP

I'm not sure Hitler ever considered Islamics (or any non-whites) as a people.

Just like Karl Marx didn't consider women or non-whites as people.

It's easy to project our current day thinking onto the past, but in many cases it just doesn't represent any reality.

Sorry - I'm not going to allow a thread to descend into an anti-Islamic hate-fest by allowing the overt comparison of all of Islam with Nazism in an attempt to foster feelings of hatred toward individuals and groups who follow the tenets of Islam - or - any other individual religion for that matter. If we allow these opinion pieces to have free rein, then we'll be condoning threads promoting the evils of Judaism, of Catholicism, of Hinduism, and perhaps even Buddhism. Individual sects have been identified globally as problems, such as ISIS, but attempting to paint Islam - as a whole - with a board-brush and demeaning all Islam as a conspiracy of Islamism is blatant religious intolerance.

AN Rule 15:

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are comprised of 57 sovereign countries representing approximately 1.6 billion followers of Islam. As well, Thailand has the status of an observing member state of the OIC which represents the 3.8 to 4.0 million followers of Islam in Thailand. Therefore Rule 14 applies as well:

I've shut down threads that were blatantly anti-Jewish in the recent past. And I'm closing this for the same reasons: We have enough religious intolerance in this world, let's not add to it.
