Teen Requires 40 Stitches After Stray Dogs Chase Motorcycle

A 17-year-old girl suffered serious injuries after a pack of stray dogs chased her motorcycle in Nakhon Ratchasima late on September 5. The teenager attempted to accelerate away from the animals but lost control and crashed, suffering wounds to her face, eyebrow, shoulder and leg that required around 40 stitches and an overnight hospital stay. Her medical and follow-up treatment costs reportedly reached close to 50,000 baht. The girl’s father said stray dogs regularly chase motorcyclists in the area and called on authorities to intervene before another person is seriously injured. Local residents have proposed a coordinated programme involving sterilisation, vaccination, health checks, adoption efforts and population management rather than waiting for further accidents before taking action.
