Featured Replies

A 41-year-old Russian tourist was allegedly robbed at gunpoint of 1,000 baht by two men on a motorcycle in Pattaya in the early hours of 15 September 2026.

The reported robbery happened at 2.05am in Pattaya Park soi, Chonburi. Pattaya police sent patrol officers to the scene after receiving the report of an armed robbery targeting a tourist.

Mr Popov, a Russian national, was found distressed after the incident. Speaking through an interpreter, he told officers that two suspects used a gun to threaten him before taking 1,000 baht in cash and fleeing by motorcycle.

He then ran to seek help from a security guard stationed nearby.

Police examine CCTV for suspects

The security guard told police that the foreign visitor had approached the guard post asking for assistance. According to the guard, the victim said two young men on a motorcycle had pulled alongside him before one produced a firearm and demanded his belongings.

Fearing for his safety, Mr Popov handed over the cash, the guard said. The two men then rode away quickly.

Investigators took the victim, for further questioning and assigned detectives to search for evidence. Police are checking nearby CCTV cameras as part of efforts to identify and locate the suspects for legal action.

UPDATE

Pattaya police hold teens over Turkish man's robbery

Apparently there were four tourists robbed in one day in the family friendly resort. Gives Thailand's 'guests' something to tell their family and friends about when they get home. And anyone else they share stuff with on social media.

Day after day Pattaya gets even better 🫣😂

What are people doing in a Park at 02:00 in the morning ? Jogging ? Working out or looking for cheap sex ?

I dont think you know the area. Nobody was in a Park, but in an area somewhat near the park.

Again, at ungodly hours.

I get that people want to party and need to be out late ...

But if you need to be out late, leave your iphone at home and only carry small amounts of cash.

And hand over the cash gladly to anyone who is threatening you and just smile it off.

It's natural instinct to protect your money, but in these situations it's completely stupid to put up even the least resistance. 1000 Baht or a few thousand Baht is nothing.
