TR visa 2 months – must list ALL accommodation?

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm applying online for a Thai TR visa for 60 days (single entry, tourist, €35), planning to extend it by 30 days once I'm in the country. I've already entered my entry and exit dates online, which comes out to 55 days.

Almost all my accommodation is small places I know from previous trips, arranged by email or Line messenger — there are hardly any booking confirmations like from booking.com. Just a few Facebook or Line messages, sometimes nothing more than an "OK".

For the first six nights I have a booking.com reservation, which I can submit with a screenshot, but I plan to cancel it one day before departure. As proof of onward/return travel I've booked a throwaway flight.

When I enter in the online visa application: "I have this hotel reservation in Bangkok for 6 days," the website says: "This does not match the 55 days total trip duration" (see screenshot below).

There's an option to list "Additional accommodation in Thailand" (further places to stay), or to list NO additional accommodation. I actually move to another small guesthouse in the countryside every 7 days (not Bangkok, Pattaya, or Phuket). Is it okay if I, at the same time:

- apply for a TR visa for 55 days

- provide proof of accommodation for only the first SIX days

- list NO "Additional accommodation")?

That's how I used to do it before, roughly pre-2023, back when you also had to apply for the TR visa 2 months in advance and didn't get a 2-month visa waiver on arrival (as around 2024-25). It always worked, but as far as I remember, there was no "additional accommodation" question back then. In theory I could also enter "Private Property," but that gets very complicated. I know there are other options for 3 months, like the Non-O visa (?), but that's not an option for me right now.

What are your practical experiences? Thanks!

I just forwarded the first two weeks accommodation nothing else from Agoda

I never supplied an onward or return ticket as was on one way

(I did actually have an onward ticket but as 2 airlines could only load first inbound sector to Thailand...I learnt later I could have combined them into one PDF document but as they didnt query it I never sent it

Only problem I had was the photograph which took 5 attempts before they were satisfied
