My 10th annual Non-O extension based on marriage to a Thai wife is coming up, on 25/09/26 (made an online appointment) at Chaengwattana Immigration, Bangkok

I’ve been a long-term resident of Bangkok since 2006, and this will be my 10th time doing the extension.

I’m familiar with the usual process, but I’m interested to hear from anyone who has been to Chaengwattana recently about any new requirements, changes to the paperwork, or changes in the procedure.

One change I noticed this year with online appointment is they no longer use L27 to check documents beforehand, you just wait at L30 for your appointed time and check documents at the same time. The appointment letter says show up 15 minutes early but if you try and walk in 15 minutes early to get documents checked it was unclear to me if that is acceptable? At first the checker said its not time to enter, but I said it says 15 minutes early on appointment sheet and she then started checking 15 minutes early anyway.

Just sharing my experience getting my 10th extension of stay based on marriage to my Thai wife.

At Chaeng Watthana Immigration, Building B in Bangkok, with a 10:00 AM appointment booked online. I arrived early and parked at the Centara Life Government Complex Hotel.

I used the 400,000 THB financial requirement in a Thai bank account. On the way to Immigration, I stopped at SCB on Phaholyothin Road, which opens at 8:30 AM. I obtained the official bank letter and a bank statement covering the previous two months. The cost was 100 THB ( cheaper than last year) and it took around 10 minutes. The required funds had been in the account for more than two months.

At Immigration, I submitted my TM.7 application forms along with all the additional/new forms, my Australian passport with signed copies of all pages, a copy of my Non-O visa and latest entry stamp, our marriage certificate and Kor Ror 2, my wife's Thai ID card and my Pink ID card, the blue house book and my yellow house book, six photos of us at home including photos outside with the address visible and photos inside the house, a Google Maps printout showing our home location, and a handwritten map.

I wasn't asked for TM.30 or TM.47, as both were already attached at the back of my passport.

I was called in at 10:00 AM as scheduled. As previously someone else mentioned they no longer use L27 to check documents beforehand, you just wait at L29/30 for your appointed time and check documents at the same time.The officer was polite and efficient, and the document-checking process took less than 20 minutes. Everything was accepted without any issues. The fee was 1,900 THB.

I received the "under consideration" stamp and was told to return on October 16 to receive the 1-year extension.

There were a couple of additional things they requested. First, they asked me to provide an updated Kor Ror 2, which I will need to submit when I return to pick up the final extension stamp on October 16.

They also couldn't clearly see the house number in one of the photos we had submitted. They asked for the original photo to be zoomed in so the house number was clearly visible. My wife ended up going downstairs to get the photo printed again. WTF 😂

Overall, the process has been pretty straightforward. Hopefully this helps someone else going through the same process. 👍

Presume you also updated your bank book. Did you provide a photocopy of bank letter, statement, and all pages of bank book?

I use SCB ezy account, so I don’t have a physical bank book. I also made a 10 THB transaction yesterday to show recent account movement, since the bank statement only shows transactions up to yesterday. That way, the balance on the statement matched the balance shown on the bank letter issued today.
