New TV - Where to buy / what to buy - Chiang Mai city area

Featured Replies

Two old TVs (LG 10 yrs old and Panasonic 8 years old) suddenly both not working at all. Both sets have in the last year intermitantly going off then 5 minutes later or 1 hr later suddenly come back to life. Seems to be electrical issues (both sets) rather than internet signal issues (excellent signal quality in our area) or TV set internal processing to get a picture on the screen. My son had a recommended technician open both sets a few months ago to identify the problems. Fot both sets (LG and Panasonic) the technician quoted 6 to 8,000Baht to fix the problems. My son asked several friends if that cost was around normal to fix such issues, they all said yes.

(Four months ago another LG in the house failed and my Thai son bought a new TCL 50 inch, but out of 5 adults / late teens in the house only 1 person (not including me) has mastered the very complex remote control.)

Family has this morning decided to replace one of the two sets mentioned in the first paragraph above, maybe around 40 to 46 inch. Brand not decided.

Any recommendations much appreciated. Thanks.

FURTHER COMMENT BY OP:

In our house we use AIS PLAYBOX for the TV signals. And I'm wondering if my PLAYBOX is suddenly faulty.

I'm guessing (just a guess) many members also get their TV signal through AIS.

Have any members had any issues / problems with their PLAYBOX?

Please share. Thanks.
