Had to nip down to Surat Thani airport today to sort out a ticket for Mrs H2o to fly to BKK to connect to her flight to LA. Its a nice little squirt down the main highway around 180km each way. On the way down there I passed 2 pick ups in the drainage ditch between the roads and 2 on their sides in the middle of the road 1 my side 1 opposite. It was a bit breezy but nothing major. Makes having a 320kg bike a blessing. Got to airport sorted ticket and headed back. On the return journey I passed i truck 1 mini bus and a car in the ditch. The only one that I could figure out was the mini bus. By the skid marks on the very edge of the right hand lane it looked like he was trying the classic Thai overtaking maneuver turning a 2 lane highway into a 3. The rest were all on straight sections of road and it appeared like they just drove off the road. No skid marks or anything. Fallen asleep???????? One of the worst days for cars in the ditch I've had for a while. Stay upright :o

... Because most drivers here are total f#ckwits behind a wheel. :o

My highlights this week have been:

a woman on a motorbike rocking a baby in a cradle strung accross the sidecar! On a duel carriage way.

six on a bike.

A lit bbq on a sidecar buring my eyes and throat as I caught up with it.

You want to try Phuket! I see more crashes than that every day driving from Karon to Big C and back... more if it rains.

This is Thailand dudes, anything goes on these crazy roads :o

It could help a bit if they concentrated on their bloody driving

instead of chatting away on their mobile phones :o

Of course compulsory hands free phoning will be years away
