First tip: I assume that by "Pohm yah poot Thai mai-dee" you mean "I don't speak Thai well."

If so, you're using "yah" incorrectly; it means "don't" in the imperative sense of "Don't! (do something)" When you want to express "don't" in the declarative sense: "I don't do ...," the word to use is "mai."

Also, as in proper English, there is a difference between "good" and "well." (the first is an adjective, the second an adverb.) Although even some native English speakers say "you speak good," that's incorrect, and should be "you speak well." Similarly, in Thai that adverb "keng" (or "geng").

So, you should say "phom poot Thai mai kawy keng." (I speak Thai not very well.)

Also, "choo-ay doo-ay" means "help" in the emergency sense of "HELP!!" But if you want someone to help you do something, say: "khun chuay phom noi dai mai khrab?"

And there are several good people on this forum who are vey helpful.

If you're serious, you should enroll in a school; learn to read Thai, and study, study, study...

Also: don't say "phom dee." (It's not the same as the colloquial English "I'm good," which is understood as meaning "I'm doing well." In Thai, that may sound like you're being boastful, because the equivalents for "good" and "well" are not interchangeable.) Better to say "phom sa-bai dee."
