Fix Ipod Thailand

Featured Replies

anyone have any idea where to getanipod fixed? i have a broken select button (center). nonot the mac center - they for b6500 will EXCHG and send to sin.

someone nota hack and can get orig parts??

im screwed :o

The only factory authorized center is in Singapore as you stated; which generation is it?

The units with the track pad shouldn't need a replacement part-- it should just need a software reset if the buttons aren't working properly. If it is a click-wheel unit then I can picture it needing replacement parts. Have you confirmed that it actually needs a new part? I imagine you could get it "dusted out" at MBK, but any actual repairs could be trickier.

Any Apple Authorized dealer will take care of the iPod if it's still under warranty. The warranty is international, no matter where you bought it, they will fix/replace it for free.

Ummm... if you are out of warranty you might actually be screwed and have to pay whatever people are asking to fix... :D

As Nikster said - this is no different than US warranties. Stores will either replace an iPod or send it in for repairs to a central service center in Texas. Turn around time is 3-5 days. Average cost for out of warranty repair is $150 to $160 dollars.

This appears to be same as what you are being offered in Thailand. Far from screwed, have to considered taking advantage of this offer? You could have avoided this, of course, by spending an extra $40 and getting a three year AppleCare coverage for your iPod. Then, there would have been no charge.

Any device will moving parts, especially one you carry with you, is subject to wear, tear and breakage. Despite some morons claiming that extended warranties are worthless, the AppleCare warranty, especially at low cost like the one for iPods, is worth it (though not for an iPod shuffle, of course).

Live and learn, but don't blame Apple for your lack of proper planning...

First I presume you have tried a hard restart (holding down play and centre nipple for 10 seconds. If still broken here is a the list of Thai Apple service centres. :o
