Worm Farms

Featured Replies

Iam trying to teach my young son the benefits of natural fertilizers and remember that my neices and nephews in Aussie used to have worm farms at school to teach them the benefits of worm castings etc my question is can you buy local worms at plant nurseries? My thanks to you all Paul

There are several ppl developing large scale work farms in Thailand, however I've never seen worm casting for sale.

A lot of ppl have their own mini worm farms to process vegetable scraps. If you looked around on the internet you may find plans on how to build such.

We compost, both leaves and vegetable scraps, our compost is full of worms. In this climate things break down very quickly.

thank's for your input mate I can make the actual ' farm ' I just wanted to get a head start with actual worms themselves, in Aus you can buy the worms at plant nurseries 'cause the species in Aussie are not really suitable for farming red or tiger worms are the one's they sell. the reason forall this is they have alittle garden allotment to teach the young one's and I thought maybe vermicomposting my be another thing they can learn . Many thanks for your input though. Paul
