vegas
When I fall asleep on the sofa my nanny has a habit of touching my head and then walking off when I wake up. This is a very personal touch. It's a bit creepy so I was wondering whether anyone else out there has a similar experience. Apart from that she is very good at her job of taking care of my 1 year old.

soundman
Hard to put a finger on this one. Nannies that perform 24 hr a day child care really miss out on a lot of interaction from similar aged people. Looking after baby & watching Thai soaps all day can be almost a prison sentence for some people & even though they try and tough it out to live up to their responsibilities, sometimes a little physical contact can have great effects on one's self esteem. (I am a human, not a robot!) Soundman.

Scott
I wouldn't worry about it, it's probably nothing much and she probably considers herself a part of the family. Maybe she thinks it will bring her good luck.

sceadugenga
I've got this housekeeper who's an absolute little cracker and she's not laid a finger on me yet. Seriously maybe she likes the feel of your hair, mine's really fine and I've had a few Asian girls who were just friends run their hand over it. geriatrickid
Or maybe she considers you to be worthy of a gentle pat, like the kid. I often pat the dog or cat when I leave the room. Unless you are otherwise encouraging her, I wouldn't worry. People have their own peculiar habits. If you are a bit jittery, show some affection to your wife in front of her, and casually mention how much you love your wife and are soooooooo lucky to have her, when its just you and the nanny in the room. She'll get the hint.
