I'd like to know if anyone knows what the typical daily limit on a foreign ATM card is in Thailand. I realize this can vary somewhat with the individual bank's policy. I just want to get a reasonable idea.

10,000 Baht?

15,000 ?

20,000 ?

Just want to know what I can handle per ATM card in an emergency.

Thanks,

The limit is set by your home back. Most ATM's here can pay out up to 20,000 baht per transaction (or more) although it may be less if out of 1,000 baht bills. If you need more and have not exceeded your limit you can draw again.

The limit set by most UK banks is 20.000 baht but they take a cut at current rate just over 800 baht some banks will allow more R.B.S. will for afee of 10 pound a month but that would only give you an extra 100 pound but no trouble at all using ATM Cards

When I withdraw 20k or 500k I get charged Nuffink-Nil -Zilch -....honestly if anyone can affort to chuck the stuff away then why not at least give it to a charity rather than the Banks (Farang destitute club ,Soi Dogs preservation society,Bangkoks unmarried tuk-tuk drivers, ) :D:o

with a gold american express credit card, you can go to the american express office off the BTS ari station, and withdraw up to 2500 dollars using a personal check per 3 week period for a small fee of 3 baht. ...that's what I do for money.

My experience is Australian Banks set limit as previously advised mine on one card is $2000 - Bank of Bangkok limit to B20000 per day )I think) - the Aust bank charges me $4 for the transaction which is much cheaper than the $28 TT fee they now extort.

The reason I say "I Think" I have never needed more than B20000 for general expenses in one day.

On those occaisions of needing > amounts than the BBkk limit I go to the $bickie bin under our bed.

Aust banks for example will charge you $1.80 to transfer it from one account to another - you can do it through internet banking yourself for $0 :o
