When you go to Immigration with the letter from your embassy showing a monthly income of B65,000 do they (Immigration) still require you to have a letter from your bank? I know if you go the 800,000 route you need the letter .

I think it depends on which immigration office you use. In Korat they only need to see the letter. My 65K is made up of two separate pensions, one of which doesn't even come to Thailand, and Immigration are quite happy with that. I know other people that have the whole of the pension paid into a UK bank and just draw out what they need from ATM, and have no problem getting the extension based on the embassy letter.
