Actually called (in Google Maps) - Soi Mu Ban Classic Home 2. Lol - I've gone around that puddle a dozen or so times on soi Padtanakan 4 (short-cutting between Khao Talo and Thung Klom-Tan Man 9), and never knew it was there. I can see why the residents are nervous. There's a large housing development (Classic Home 1, 2 and 3) on the other side of that brick wall. Some houses are literally right against that wall. Here is the Sept 2023 Google Street View Image: And here is the "satellite view" (the road is on the left side of the pond). The "village - and most of the sois on that side of Soi Khao Noi (or Boon Samphan) all slant downhill towards that pond. I imagine there was a lot of water flowing down there during that last few monsoons we've had. And I wouldn't dip my toe in that "swimming pond". There are "recycling" and "garbage dump" places off to the right side of that pond and you can bet that water wouldn't be safe to drink - in most western countries.- 1

Surely for condo owner-occupiers, too. That many foreigners chose to live outside the normal legal structures of Thailand doesn't change these structures. Of course, it's easier that way - but buying a condo without having a housebook is almost like buying a condo without a chanote (I know, some people do that). There are even educated middle-class Thais who buy, own and sell condos and don't give a shít about housebooks. But this still doesn't change the legal structure (which is followed by most Thais). Many people think this is Kansas 1840 - no laws, no law-enforcement, no administration. But this isn't Kansas anymore. -

Actually it's not so much the beer as the snacks that often come with it. Drinking arouses the appetite (to be ahead of the funny guys: yes, not only for food). I can tell from own experience: love to drink beer but don't snack, constant weight (BMI<25) for over 10 years. And as for the spirits: 1 gram of alcohol contains 7 calories. There are 65 cal in a standard glass of whiskey, about 83 in a small bottle of beer. Only alcohol free spirits have zero carbs. Cheers! -
