Changes To Lower Sukhumvit

It looks like the Bangkok Governor is taking global warming and traffic congestion in the city seriously - having just returned from BKK I note with much surprise that a new bicycle path has been implemented on Lower Sukhumvit. The sidewalk on Sukhumvit between Soi's 3 and 5 are now designated as a bicycle route and the sidewalk painted out accordingly. Competition for the space is fierce with street vendors, beggars and motorcycle taxi's all competing head on with the cyclists and the few pedestrians who dare walk on the pavement. I look forward to seeing more of these leading edge initiatives become reality in the future.
