There is normally a reset buttom under the digital faceplate also a small jack for a electronic plug in tool.

seriously though, At a hotel I once had an eletronic in-room safe malfunction. The manager brought with him a 9-volt battery and connected two wires to the front panel (he obviously knew where to attach the wires). he just held the wires with his fingers and the battery reset the safe's code. You should check with the manufacturer if there is a similar reset capability for your safe. Might save you a lot of effort and damage.

Ive often wondered about the reset thing on safes. I too have heard there is way to reset. Makes you wonder what the point of having a safe, hotel or personal, if someone can just reset it / stick some wires onto it....

looks rather that the safe's batteries went flat and the manager put some power to be operational again. Once opened the cod can be reset - but I haven't heard about resetting the safe when it's locked. Defies the purpose of safe

Who installed it? Once had a similar issue with a non-electronic Leeco while setting the combination... they just came out with a new one the same day. Have never had much confidence in battery operated safes myself.

I had the same thing happen to me in a hotel room. The manager got the opening device, but it didn't work either. When some of the units fail (this was an ElSafe), there is no way to open the electronically. You will get the "too many attempts" lockout, and it is easier to go the brute force route. Four hours later the hotel engineer finally got it open... too bad he didn't have what Percy recommended. It was actually quite comical.

If you don't have a proper metal saw, a crowbar will work eventually with enough sweat and clear access to the safe. Much easier to hire a locksmith that can crack it properly rather than trying to outsmart the metal. We didn't have much luck with a standard grinder either.

i work at laem chabang (live pattaya) and have a plasma cutter, it WILL open the safe but it wont be pretty.

P.S i would need to bring the safe into my work (unless you have an aircomprssor in your unit)

AFAIK most electronic safes have jump connexions, or a physical key override, {which resets combination so it can't be used 'invisibly' during guest's stay} to allow the safe to be opened. After all how does a hotel deal with the guest who checks out and left the safe, empty but locked? Guess locksmith is the most logical port of call first.

From Where did you buy the safe? you can call them , and they will send an specialist to open your safe .

Just whistle for the nearest Mech shop, see if they have either a cutting torch (may damage contents) or a thermal lance (very little chance of contents being untouched )

I posted a similar thread last year when I couldn't open my safe. I found that the solution was to drink 4 Beer Laos before I attempted to open the safe! It worked every time...
