GuestHouse
The 'Old Hands' around here, particularly those in BKK may recall, or even know Shrimp.... Patrick 'Shrimp' Gauvain. Whatever happened to him, one minute he was the most notorious photographer, and possibly the most notorious expat in Bangkok, next thing he's never heard of again. Anyone know what happened to Shrimp, where he went, or is he still around? (And no I'm not trying to find him, I'm just curious). Developing, maintaining and enhancing corporate and brand presence in order to promote our clients products and service. From: (Old job) Video of Asian lesbians frolicking in the Bamboo Palace. Rating: Full Nudity Run Time: 50 minutes View online: US$7.95 for 15 minutes. In a casting call full of beautiful topless girls we meet famed photographer Patrick "Shrimp" Gauvain, as he selects the girls for his next Shrimp Calendar. After the casting, there's a scene with some very erotic asian lesbians. Then we're off to a tropical paradise where the photo shoot commences, the temperature heats up with asian lesbians again, and the clothes come off. GuestHouse
Shouldn't we be patting him on the back then for making a move to something a bit more respectable?!

ColPyat
Shouldn't we be patting him on the back then for making a move to something a bit more respectable?! All along his money he made with more respectable advertisement and corporate photography in his studios, and later more branched out marketing services. The naughty stuff was never more than a hobby. He has calmed down a lot over the years, he isn't young anymore.

grahamhc
I too miss Shrimp. His were the most tasteful photos of Thai nudes. Remembering what he said on the shirmpworld website , which is now dead, he said that the models were all amatuers that he found and not professional model. The story I heard, may have been in Trink, but I cannot remember clearly, was that all went well until he decided to increase his sales product ranges. So he started selling POSTCARDS! Then "the powers that be" decided that by placing a stamp on the postcard, it was offensive to His Majesty. This made him "Persona non gratis" and he was asked to leave the country. I heard he moved to Hong Kong, where he continued his chosen vocation. He continued to run the (now dead) website selling calendars and also a viewing of his new photos by monthly subscription for his followers. villagefarang
Shrimp was doing better than ever when I saw him last year. Business was doing well and he was reasonably healthy considering his life style and past health problems. Still drinks wine by the bottle but he's not quite as crusty as the old days. A certain air of legitimacy about him, though he is showing his age a bit. This is coming from a guy that though somebody would have canceled his check a long time ago because of his notorious behavior. Guess he is more of a survivor than I gave him credit for. It was actually good to see him and catch up after about 10 or 15 years. I say good luck to him.

GungaDin
I still have three of his pocket calendars, I wish I had downloaded some of his tasteful nudes, back in 2001-2 they were nice. Did anyone had the foresight to collect some of his old online pics? Just checked again, they have 'CheckPoint Charlie' stickers on them, year obscured. Charlie is still around and still a loudmouth... saw / heard him a year ago.... edit: Update on Shrimp. bkkjames
deleted by moderator Wrong again, but keep trying. Saw Patrick last fall, still doing what he does best, making ads / brochures and so-on for major companies. Still likes his red wine I understand.
