Crv Versus Captiva

Featured Replies

Hi

as there has been lot of comparison between similar cars, but did not find any regarding these two car's

how's captiva is dealing against Honda CRV,, allthrough both of them have almost identical equipments but any one has comments abou them.

The Captiva has seven seats, full options and comes in a diesel - The CRV has better resale value and road handling.

I prefer the Captiva.

Should I buy one?

If you do, we'd guess your decision would have to be based on an appreciation of its looks, because there are MPVs with superior dynamics and practicality. The diesel auto seven-seater has its niche, but it's not as cheap as we'd hoped. And certainly the harsh ride of the top spec LTX rules it out as a family carry-all – any kids in the rearmost row of seats are going to go green very quickly.

The £21k diesel manual in LT spec is better, but still no match for a Honda CR-V. Once you get past the looks, in fact, the Captiva's a closer match for a Hyundai Santa Fe – but that definitely puts it in the second division of smaller SUVs........... Autocar

Last week on TV I watched the test of 10 'Soft Off roaders' the winner by a mile was the Nissan X-Trail as the best all rounder,

The Captiva was well ahead of the Land Rover Discovery, but still in 5th place

In my own mind I can easily sum it up. Captiva has a diesel available, CRV does NOT. Why suffer a 30 percent fuel economy difference with a gasoline engine?

So what are the real world km/l in a 2.4 Captiva then?

Fuel consumption:

2.0VCDi 7-seat auto

Fuel consumption mpg (litres/100km): urban 26.4 (10.7)

Fuel consumption mpg (litres/100km): extra-urban 38.7 (7.3)

Fuel consumption mpg (litres/100km): combined 332.8 (8.6)

CO2 emission (g/km) 225

Emission class Euro IV
