Transfering Money To Thailand

Featured Replies

I would like to know if their is a limit to the amount of GBP cash that you can bring into thailand. In the region of 5,000 to 10,000 is that allowed the money will have been drawn from a Bank in the uk would their be any problem with this amount all advice much appreciated

No limit of BRINGING in money, but many countries have limits on the amount of money you can take out of the country.

The new limit within the EU is 10,000 euro, so I would imagine it's pretty similar for UK residents. You could probably bring the rest in traveller's cheques (better check that first though)

I know a friend who brought £11,500 cash with him when he came to Thailand last year. He was questioned by customs in Manchester when he was leaving the UK and they recorded the fact but they didn't prevent him from taking it with him.
