October 7, 200718 yr somewhere in my surfing i picked up this piece of (seems pretty benign spyware) called "dropper.ragger". spybot picks it up and seems to effectively quarintine it but on each boot-up it has to automatically re-quarintine it. it doesn't seem capable to actually root-out this peice of software. my system seems to work fine with SB clamping down on it each time it tries to run. however, i would like to root it out...anyone have any suggestions for this. it seems like i will have to edit the windows registry to do this. anyone have to do this before or have any hints.
October 7, 200718 yr I had a stubborn bit called myweb search. Spy bot found it but could not delete. I had to start up computer in safe mode then run spybot. It found it as usul but could delete it. Can only sugest you try the same Good luck
October 7, 200718 yr Spybot needs to be run in safe mode but if it's a rootkit that installed it it will take some extra effort to get rid of it. Do a scan here before you do another spybot scan and post the results. http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
