Could anyone clarify what the fine is for handing in a work permit from my previous company some months after I've left there?

I've seen posts on here indicating it's 1000B, but other people I've spoken to have said its 2000B.

When it happened to me (because the company "forgot" when I left to take a job outside Thailand) it was 1000 Baht, but that was in 2004, may be more now.
