I've just put someone on my blocked PM list - first time ever! He is a relative newby who has been annoying the sh!t out of most regulars in one of the regional sub-forums. The usual thing - insulting and offensive comments to all and sundry (but a few others have given him back as good as he gave). Finally, I gave him some courteous advice, which he seemed to readily accept. I even suggested that other posters give him another go (to redeem himself). Next thing, he sends me a snide PM (to which I have no intention of replying). Unbelievable. You just can't help some people. Unless he mends his ways, I would be surprised if he makes it to 500. Why did I bother you with this if I am not going to mention his nik? Because it's a random post (and there are worse members around than him - but at least they don't send me snide PMs)...

Has anyone else chosen to block a member's PMs?

Tough one Ping, sorry to hear that someone is so irritating that you have to put a block on him. I have not yet had to do that but I have been close. Hope it works out okay.

I just realised that in 20 years time when I'm walking along Sukhumvit with my daughter people will look at us and conclude I'm an old pervert and she's a hooker.

It wasn't at all serious Tiggs - the PM was like the poster himself; irritating (a bit like an itch that you can't scratch) and immature. Interestingly, the entire pointless thread he opened (which led to the incident) was scratched. Not a bad achievement for someone who only joined this year.

Chimpy - I feel for you that you are left out in the snide PM department. If I ever get another one from someone else, I'll reuturn it to the poster as 'Not known at this address - try Chimpy.'
