Epson Cx5500/vista Enterprise

Featured Replies

Has anybody recently purchased an Epson CX5500 all-in-one printer/scanner?

I purchased one last weekend and I'm having problems trying to load the drivers on a Vista Enterprise (as admin). The printer drivers load and the printer work fine, but the scanner just won't work.

It tells me it cannot find the driver.

Epson Help Desk told me to download the drivers and reinstall. Did that no luck.

Any advice or recommendations, apart from use XP or Linux, would be most welcome.

Thanks.

The CX5500 is a cheap Printer, looks very good but it's crap: printing isn't good! The driver is the nexts problem!

I was thinking a few weeks ago to buy on, I'm a Epson Fan, but instead I moved to an Brother DCP 330 C which does the job much better than the Epson CX 5500 with more advantage! Price was at IT-City THB 2,990.00! And works under Vista without no problems (after downloading the new driver)!

THe printer is a cheap option but I was hoping that some other people had actually installed it on Vista and got the scanner working.

It appears to be a problem with the scanner driver.

Hi, sorry, but I am not working on Vista, but XP. The CX5500 is working quite okay (I succeed in printing, copying ánd scanning), but my laptop seems to be losing contact to the ######' thing and it is a hel_l of a job to get it working again. Plus... I replaced a black cartridge with a new, official, Epson 73 cartridge and the driver is not recognizing it... and thus will NOT print...

In case anyone has any suggestions, please feel free.....

Thanks and good luck,

Niels

Hi all, I too purchased a CX5500 and wish I had not. I can not print picture or name cards etc. Seems like the lousy thing demands Epson ONLY ink and maybe enen EPSON ONLY paper. My suggestion - and one I'm thinking about taking is -- throw the piece of crap out the window. This is the 2nd printer I purchased in Thailand and have not been able to print with either of them. The previous on - HP 3 in 1 repeatedly told me it was out of paper. I took it back to Office, where I purchased it, 3 times. They "fixed it" 3 times it has NEVER worked. And of cours NO GUARENTEE in Thailand.

So now I have this Epson which ???? might make a great paperweight. Any of your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't think it's too much to ask that a print JUST simply PRINT. GEEZE.

Thanks,

Keoki :o
