nowhere else than nothern ireland or republic of Ireland (but that by boat not by the air on your way out, on your way in can be by air).

the uk is not part of the shengen agreement - so you have to apply for a shengen visa, same with all other countries

With a UK visa, the only country in which the visa has any validity is the UK. For any other country your g/f will need a separate visa, including the Republic of Ireland. A Schengen visa will get her access to the Schengen area or, alternatively, as Mahout Angrit alluded to, there are various places which don't require Thai citizens to have a visa.

Perhaps a little side trip to Bermuda......

Scouse.

having a UK visa in her passport it shouldn't be a problem to get a Schengen visa from any of the continental european embassies or consulates in UK.

Unfortunately, in principle, applicants for a visa should apply in the country where they normally reside. Her visa applications in the UK may therefore be rejected on the basis that she is a visitor to the UK. However, there is no harm in asking the relevant Consulate or Embassy.

on the ferry to Ireland nobody checks passports, same if you are crossing from nothern ireland.

on your way back you can even travel by plain - there is no emmigration at least at Heathrow

That there is no passport check does not absolve a Thai citizen from holding a visa. If they enter without one, they are in Ireland illegally. Additionally, the British and Irish authorities mount spot checks and if you need a visa but don't have one, you may be refused entry.

Yep Russia has got heaps of snow, BUT, I suggest that you double check whether she does / does not need a visa.

I spent a couple of years in Russia and would be surprised if she doesn't need a visa. Cost nothing to check it out.

Shengen visa is not that hard try it - some countries are eaiser to give it out. Finland I think was the easiest, but then you need to go to finland first to avoid rejection in the future.

While on a tourist visa she will not be able to apply for a schengen as she must apply from he country, and that should have been done before she went to the uk. The new forms that are out now ask for a planned itineary of her visit.

She will be an illegal immigrant in Ireland and for sure will be stopped. If she is caught then you will have big problems next time you apply as she will not get one, So dont be foolish.

there is no border controll between nothern ireland and the republic and there is no one on the british-irish border - there might be random police checks but what they can do most is turn you back. There is not chance she will be deported if she is not working there, more so if she with fiance who invited her
