Hi there!

This may have already been asked but since it is not possible to ask for a work permit when entering the country on a tourist visa, and since it is difficult to find a job if not in the country, how to move from a tourist visa to a non-immigrant visa, assuming that one has found a job opportunity whilst one was visiting thailand on a tourist visa?

Should one get out of the country, to Lao for example and apply for a non immigrant visa from there with a letter from the employer, or am I making things to complicate ?

It is possilbe to change from Tourist to Non Imm O

(don't know about Non Imm B(usiness) while

in Thailand. I did it.

But you will have to show that you qualify for that class by showing ...

1/ you qualify for a 1 yr retirement extension (800KBaht and 50yrs old) OR

2/ you qualify for a 1 yr Thai wife support extension (400KB) OR

3/ have made or will make a 3MBaht investment.

There are other more esoteric classifications, but these

are the most common.

That is a start for you.

Unfortunately,

1. I am under 50 (rather fortunate for now)

2. I only have a thai boyfriend who does not qualify as a wife

3. I will be very pleased to invest 3M bath in a local business if it wasn't that £$% complicate !

I still hope I could get an ED visa...
