Try to check at this hotel : www.cabana.co.th

I really recommend this hotel!!

Hi kitesurfer, the cabana resort as mentioned above is an expensive and now very dated resort catering mainly for Thais coming fom BKK for the weekend / week. It depends wha you are looking for really. None of the hotels in town have wireles or DSL in room. You can try the Farangbar which has wifi and cheap accom but its very basic accom. The hotel across from Farangbar I can reccomend, the Chumphon garden hotel. Around500 baht a night for air, hot shower, cable etc and its all brand new. Fame tours also has internet and cheap accom. If you want to be on the beach there are a couple of internet bars/ coffee shops etc but dont know of any accom o beach with internet access. There used to be a guy running a kitesurfing school on Thung Waelen beach but has decided not to return this year by all accounts. Its evidently an excellent beach to kitesurf from. We used to go down and watch them. Always fancied giving it a go but never got round to doing it. Hope it helped :o

There was this French guy, Frank who ran "Terrace cafe" at the other end of the beach (from the Cabana) near the kite school, he had ADSL and 5 pc's.

But he sold the place to an other French guy and I heard the place is not runned very well.

Ad for the Cabana, indeed they used to have a small room with and old PC and POT telephone connection asking 2 baht/minute.

I lived 4 years on that beach but left 19 months ago, so not up-to-date really.
