Hi guy's I'm after a program to convert video files so that I can edit them with Windows Movie Maker.

Not knowing the source format, it's a little difficult to be precise, but possibly this Open Source or this paid option might help.

Acala dvd ripper works well. Assuming you want to convert from a dvd disc to a format which is easy to work with like avi. Easy, fuss free way to do it. It's not free though but you get what you pay for.

I use Ultra Video Joiner. Can accept many different types of input files & can output to many different formats. See the attached pic.

1 problem...it's not free.

i have found 'imTOO' to be the best for me. Just look it up in google.

Mediacoder is free.
