I am travelling next Sunday with my Taiwanese girlfriend to Thailand..

She has already bought a return ticket from shanghai to bangkok but it is returning 30 days after arrival and she can only get a 15 day visa on arrival.

What is the best thing to do?

1) Buy another return ticket prior to arrival to fly from phuket to singapore or somewhere else after 15days and come straight back? (are there restrictions on getting two 15 day visas straight after each other?

2) try to get a longer visa next week at the consulate in Shanghai (is this possible for taiwanese? and how long does it take?)

3) buy a ticket to somewhere else and only stay in thailand for the first 15 days and get an international transfer back out of bangkok

4)some other idea....

Ask the Thai Consulate for help and get a tourist visa. Otherwise change her ticket to have her leaving in 15 days.

Apply for a Tourist Visa in Shanghai, this gives her a 30day stay.

Apply today, pick up the Visa on Tuesday afternoon.

Assuming politics are not involved - that the Consulate will issue a visa on a Taiwan Passport.

Well the consulate wasn't very helpful on the phone (said she required work documents that she doesn't have) and none of the travel agents we called here in Nanjing want to handle it so we're sending all the docs to a Taiwanese friend in shanghai who will try to arrange it as she's done this before..
