Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

That when I arrive for a 3 week holiday I will get a tourist visa at the airport? I don't have to get a visa before I leave?

I am British but will be arriving from Australia. I will have evidence of my flight out of Bkk. Staying only 20 days.

Just want to check this is correct.

Thanks.

You can pass directly to the immigration lines from the plane, you do not have to get a Tourist visa in Australia or a "Visa on Arrival" at the airport. You are exempt from needing a visa and will receive a 30-day stay entry stamp (not a visa of any kind) in your passport at the immigration counter. You will be able to stay in Thailand for 30 days.

Have a nice trip :o

You are safe. Enjoy the Melbourne Cup today. :o

Does that rule apply regardless of any other types of visa you've ever had in your passport?

I believe it should make zero difference what other Thai visas you have, that said read my experiences back march on arriving with an expired visa in my PP http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113966

As an aside, when I returned to Manila in August everyone, but everyone in the local office knew of my 'problem'. Apparently an ex-boss who'd been on another flight and just happened to be in another line, saw me being hauled off by immigration and, of course, reported to all :o
