could anyone tell me if I can get a mini bus to Kanchan from Victory monument instead of having to go to the Southern Bus Terminal.

I dont think so, but things change fast, so it may have changed.

BUt the minivans to Kan lve from the SANAM LUANG=in front of Royal HTL, so also no need to ''go Sai Thai'' do you know that SaiThai itself has moved- the Kan buses are due for change per 15/11.

You most certainly can take a "rot dtoo" from Victory Monument to Kanjanaburi. I have done it more than once. You need to go to the small soi to the south west of the roundabout. If you're not sure ask for the "queue rot dtoo".
