I have read that but i'm especially looking for information on CATS.

i think there are different rules for CATS as for dogs......

No, rules are the same and it is no problem at all.

Airlines will have their own specific rules for putting the cat on the plane, check with them on that.

On arrival in Thailand you take the cat tio the Animal Quarantibne station in the airport and get a health certificate and import license. Costs 50 Baht and requires only a certificate of rabies vaccination within the past year and a cursory examination by the government vet on duty.

That's all if the cats come with you as either carry on (some airlines allow them in the cabin, I know Thai does -- only 1 cat per person but as you are a coupkle perhaps you could each bring one) or as accompanied baggage. But if the cats come as cargo, the import rules are the same but you will have to collect the cat at the cargo terminal and deal with customs, who will charge you something...amount varies widely and can be negotiated. To help on that, no matter what the cat is, declare her as "mixed"breed. Smile a lot during the custom negotiations and point out her age, etc. Best is to have them with you as carry-on or accompanied baggage, saves both money and time (cargo terminal being a few km awqay from passenger terminal).

The only other wrinkle I have heard of is some airlines insisting on your having the import license in advance before they let the animal on the plane. This is not necessary in terms of Thai law, they are set up to issue the import permits on arrival. Usually if you go by Thai airways it is easier as they know the Thai system. Because the import certificate can only be issued in Thailand. There was a long thread about this issue some time back.

The only other possible wrinkle is if your flight arrives outside government working hours, there was a case at the old airport where someone arrived when no government vet was on duty and had a hassle.

I fly my cat in and out of Thailand all the time, always on TG and always bringing her in the cabin with me (have to inform the airline in advance and provide the dimensions of the carrier and total weight of cat plus case). To be honest, on arrival I just walk on through and don't bother to stop at animal quarantine to get the papers, and have never had a problem, but technically you are supposed to.

Actually, if you re-read the thread Importing a Pet into Thailand, there is a very specific post here regarding importing a cat into Thailand and very recently made, as well.
