The Toyota tundra isnt available in thailand, we have the vigo which is diesel, we also have the nissan frontier navara, also the ford ranger is available here but it is a mazda badged ford and not the model you get in the states,.and again in diesel unlike the usa which gets gas only,. depending on the visa you have you wont have a problem getting it in your name and insuring it, if you buy new the chances are the dealer will do all the paperwork for you,if you really dont know anyone in thailand it will be a bit of a chore i have to tell you dealing with the dealerships etc, .but what you do have in your favour is that in the main dealers you arent likely to get ripped off as they have a price and dont usually discount, try and get all the extras and insurance thrown in,. but realy i would seek out a thai friend/relative if possible to assist you, god luck

We have got some Thai friends so i will talk to them and take one or two with me to assist me...

Its a shame that the Toyota Tundra is not availeble but we settle for the biggest Vigo then

As always, we advise anyone buying a new car to ask how much money would be discounted if they did not take the “free” (a misnomer if ever there was one) insurance then contact Thai Visa Insurance to see what deal can be had.

You can drive a rental car in Thailand on your International Driving Permit. But, if you own a car in Thailand your car insurance will only cover you if you have a Thai driver's license.

However, when buying new and if you are short of cash, you can effectively finance the 1st year's insurance over the finance term by taking it as part of the overall package. Note also that you can pay extra to upgrade the total liability of the "free" insurance.

It's depend on the insurance company. Some of them accept international DL. I think it was "New Hamshire"

LOL.. I'm very happy with Aviva, or whatever they're called these days.

Also, they can't go lower than list price. If they discount the insurance, you'd have to get them to give you other crap that you don't need and will likely break a lot sooner than the actual car parts. (All the after-market plastic bits some people put on their cars)
