British Airways Crew Members Caught Drinking

British Airways crew members caught drinking just hours before flying

In a report from Manchester Evening News, eight crew members of British Airways were reportedly drinking at Manchester’s Arora International Hotel, just hours before their Manchester – New York flight was set to depart.

Police were given an anonymous tip-off and informed British Airways officials. The crew members were interviewed but no charges have been made against the two pilots of the Boeing 767.

The airline cancelled the BA1503 flight, which was set to depart at 10 a.m. due to “crew shortage”, said a spokesperson on behalf of British Airways.

Passengers were then flown to London Heathrow before they left for New York while passengers who were set to fly on the jet back to Manchester had to fly to Heathrow instead.

I had a bar in BKK some years ago and it was not unusual to have BA pilots in for a few well within their limited hours

Pilots for decades have been drinking or flying well hungover. Use to be 3 pilots and an engineer in the pointy end of 747s back then so the drunk one would just pop into the bunk and sleep it off
