Dyzzi,

What nationality are you and your partner, and upon what grounds do you want to go to the US?

Scouse.

We are both british and so are my 2 children...I just want to move to the us no particular reason...A different life style i suppose....

Because you don't state any reason that the US should let you move here, I will assume there is none. In that case it is very simple, just buy round trip tickets the the US and come here. Once here you'll have to do a little bit of leg work and find out where you can buy a phony green card and social security card. These should not cost that much, a mexican can get the pair for $50.00 in most major cities. Once you have these you can get a job and move on with life.

The downside is that you came over as a visa and after 90 days it will expire. If for some reason you are encountered by ICE you will be arrested detained and deported in that order. The other downside is the the dollar isn't really worth anything anymore so you stick arond here for a few years you'll go home without any savings.

Those from the UK can't enter the Diversity Lottery.

Unless they're from Northern Ireland.

I think we know which hard-driving senator was responsible for that exception.

Now it makes sense - never did quite know how they manages that wee wangle! Pity my granda is only my Granda though marriage lol - could have got into the DV lottery thanks to his Belfast birth!!

As for emigration to the USA, I have always understood this to be nigh on impossibile if you are British because of the DV exclusion. When I studied there for a year, Phoenix was full of Irish who had went and collected unclaimed green cards - don't ask me how it worked but all I new was they were there legally and wee Scottish me didn't have a hope in hel_l! That was after I had listened to my Irish friends telling me how easy it was!

So unless you have a skill they want - and can line up a job that an American can't do (!!!) - then maybe try somewhere else!

I know IT guys who were recruited in the UK for jobs in the USA but its a while ago now - 10+ years

When I worked for MOT I could have relocated to the USA but chose to remain working from Scotland

I know a few other guys who have transferred - IT and Finance mostly - but was recently talking to aircraft guys who got jobs there - they were specialists in avionics

If you have skills not available in the USA then ????

The easiest and MOST ACCURATE source of information( about immigration to US) you are looking for can be found at the US Embassy of whatever country you currently reside or the respective embassy website.
