I have 4 dishwashers. The oldest is 70 and the youngest is about 26. My wife is breaking in a 10 year-old this year, shows promise. Siemens gets the nod for washing machines at about 15 years old and still going strong. It has needed more frequent servicing so an LG was bought about a year ago as a backup. I also bought a top-loading 16 kg Haier about 5 years back as some of the troubles with the front-loaders was overloading with blankets and duvets. That needed new dampers last year, all still good. Fridges: There's a Whirlpool that's over 20 years old and refuses to die. Replaced the compressor relay once. The Samsung fridge is about 10 years old, no problems. Latest addition was a 4-door TCL that's working ok. Mind you, the compressor on a small TCL beer fridge died within a year. Only cost about 4600 baht on special, so there's no plans to fix it. Air-conditioning: Replaced the old, reliable but inefficient Denco with a mix of Hitachi and LG. The LG needed a new computer board after a gheko fried on it, otherwise both still good. More recently have bought a pair of Midea units, plus 4 more for a 4-bedroom annex, all very nice and quiet. All split types, inverters, no cassettes. Hot water shower: Stuck with Panasonic in the MBR but there's a cheaper Astana unit in the utility shower room. The annex got 4 new Midea units, no complaints from the lodgers.
