Maxnet Internet Package

Featured Replies

I am thinking of getting a Maxnet package, 1024/512 Kbps. Will this get me through the day, or are their higher speed packages much better value ?

It does today. I've got Maxnet Premier and the server has been down most of the day. When you call their service centre (1103) you get the standard bullshit reply of "will be okay in one hour". Luckily I've got Loxinfo dial-up as a back up service.

Are similar packages of TOT or True also frequently disappointing/sucking ?

Maxnet Internet Package, Does it still suck ?

Yes it does!!!

At least here in Ban Wang Tan, that's a Moo Ban halfway between Chiang Mai and Hang Dong.

YES IT SUCKS!!!

Stay the <expletive> away from these crooks!

Got a different phone line and am finally able to dump them like the steaming pile of poo that they are.

You guys aren't making me feel very good. I am considering moving to a differnt home near MaeJo. I currently have TOT ADSL which, although slower than advertised, has been almost 100% reliable. The new home has TT&T so I can only get Maxnet. The availablity of ADSL was a main requirement before moving ( renting).

I'm not sure that you're right there. I have reason to think it is possible to order TOT on TTT or Maxnet(TTT) ON TOT. May be wrong but I'd check if I was you. BTW a friend of mine lives a mile or two west of Mae Jo Uni and whilst he has only started on the slowest package, his experience is not good.

Good Luck.

I live in Cm and have the 2K Maxnet package and its decent.. Okay I only get about 200 to 300k during the day but fluctuates higher and after midnight get upwards of 1700 K... I think the trick is to wait for the line to be installed and test it before committing to a lease.. Or otherwise find a CO (central telephone facility) and rent a house etc near it...

Hope that helps

I had ipStar from ToT. the 512k package was 2200 baht per month and it was reliable but really slow and i had to have a huge ugly satellite dish in my front garden. We could not have ADSL because we were too far from town, (4km).

I now have maxnet 1meg package for 590 baht and it is mostly reliable twice as fast, athough nowhere near 1meg and most importantly 1/4 of the cost.

So perhaps maxnet sucks but it does not suck anywhere near as hard as ToT, (in my area anyway).

Land & Houses Park Mae Jo (3 km south of Mae Jo University): TT&T available but I selected TOT. Started out lower but now have their 1.5 mb ADSL at about 790 baht/month; happy (but I don't play on line games, either).

TT&T in CM gives me over 2000k most of the time and a consistent upload of 400k

Sometimes download slows down to 5-600 but that is quite rare and normally a phone call to them puts it right.

My office is very close to the outside main line connection so this could be a factor.

So, what kind of phone line did you get, and is your internetspeed now non-sucking ?

Don't forget that you have several other options available over a TT&T phone line apart from Maxnet.

The sales people at TT&T will try to make you choose Maxnet, but I would advice from it unless you can pay for the small business package or more without making a hole in your wallet.

1)Can I only get an internet package from TT & T when having their ADSL telephone line installed, or can I also sign up for a TOT (or whatever company) internet package on a TT & T ADSL line ?

2) Which package would you suggest ?

Got a TOT line. TOT is supposed to let me know today what kind of speed I can have. 1000 baht for 2Mbit (if available).. I'm on the Sanpatong network apparently; don't know if that's good or bad; like if I'm sharing it just with a bunch of buffalo then that'd be good because buffalo aren't known for their heavy Youtube usage.

Ok, TOT just confirmed they'll let me have the 2 Mbit connection for 1000 baht.. YAY!!!

Though.. Especially in Thailand one should not cheer before that high definition porn is actually streaming in at advertised speeds. :o

(Not that I'd be unhappy with even 1 Mbit.. Basically at this point I'm happy with anything that works AT ALL at any speed faster than dial-up.)
