I just been to Pak Chong :

You want route 2 out of bkk heading for Korat Pak Chong is past Chok Chai where they do a lovely 'T' bone :Pick up a Michelin road map easy to find

Pak Chong you will turn off to the left situated about 88 kilometres from Korat hope this helps

At their quoted rates you are better off to drive straight to Khon Kaen Many Fine Hotels.

What makes you so sure he's continuing to Khon Kaen? If he's just looking for a fine hotel then better if he remains in Bangkok, but that's not the impression I got, perhaps you know something I don't?

We just wanted to take a break from Bangkok and spend a few days in the country at a nice rural hotel.

Corkscrew my suggestion was an alternative - Sofitel 5 star- Kosa 4 star etc plenty of golf, BBQ by the dam, Jurasic Park @ Kalasin, Cobra Farm.

Over to you.

I am still looking for the constructive part of the above posters comment?? :o

The point I was making is that if for example, I was going to Korat on business, why would I want referring to accomodation in Khon Kaen? The OP never mentioned anything about Khon Kaen, he asked for directions to Korat, but your post seemed to imply that Khon Kaen was his final destination - I was intrigued as to how you knew this.

I didn't understand what relevance Khon Kaen had with the OP but, as the picture clears, it seems that it was merely an opportunistic attempt to promote Khon Kaen as an alternative tourist destination.

Driving from Bangkok what is the best way to get to the Hotel Kirimaya in Korat? Thanks in advance.

Take 2 headed toward Korat (north-east) before you reach Pak Chong you will see a sign for Khao Yai head up the mountain until you see the entrance to the Khao Yai National Park take a left just before the park entrance about 15KM you will see Kiramaya Resort on the right.

In light traffic it is about 2 1/2 hour trip.

Ilive in the area and have stayed at the hotel any other questions let me know glad to help.
