December 4, 200718 yr My boyfriend is an Indian with an Indian passport and will be taking Thai Air from Bangalore to Bangkok. He will arrive at 0400H. Then he will be taking Philippine Airlines (PAL) to Manila at 1300H. Will he be needing any sort of visa to get his bag and move to the transit lounge or wherever it is he needs to go to to get to his next flight? Will his ticket from PAL and Philippine Visa on his passport be enough to get him thru Immigrations? Thank you
December 4, 200718 yr There should be no need for him to pass through immigration at all. On arrival he can simply follow the signs for Transit and go to the Transfer desk to check in for his onward flight. No e-mail addresses please
December 4, 200718 yr Once he checks in for the connecting flight the airline will transfer the luggage.
December 4, 200718 yr Author really? but he purchased the tickets seperately. and it is off different airlines. i know that that is true if he purchased a ticket from bangalore to manila from a single airline, but that is not the case. he is going thru Thai Air and then Philippine Airlines.
December 4, 200718 yr I suggest that he goes to the Transit Lounge FIRST He should check with PAL if they can retreive his Luggage If not then he can apply for a Visa on Arrival (Bht 1,000) which is straight forward - and at 4am should not have a very long queue - except for others on his flight.
December 4, 200718 yr BTW - if he has not bought his Tickets yet ... He can probably buy a cheaper Ticket from Air India on the SAME Thai Airways Flight. They have Flight share Prog TG 325 / AI6325
December 4, 200718 yr Author oh wow! hehe thank you for your suggestions! will surely do that btw, about the VOA, it says that an individual needs to show 10,000 bhat? how? like a bank statement or do you have to flash 10,000 bhat to them? hehe and in our case, does he need that, too? thanks!
December 4, 200718 yr really? he is going thru Thai Air and then Philippine Airlines. Yes REALLY. Philippine Airlines will key in the baggage tag numbers and their staff will retrieve the bags. Note to other readers. This does NOT apply if you are transferring to a budget airline like AirAsia, as these arilines do not have any transit arrangements.
